I've had a pretty disturbing and regrettable experience recently. I lost a great job in Turkey for a supposed better one in Cameroon by some BILC. I foolishly gave the benefit of the doubt to these scammers and sent money as well as provide real personal details to them. I'm more anxious about the details I gave out than the money I lost.

The details I gave were:
1. CV
2. Teaching Certificates
3. Passport Page
4. Recent Picture
5. A scanned copy of my Visa pass to the UAE
6. A formal recommendation Letter from the University I taught.

What can I do? Am I in serious trouble?

Hello Mizjule

You have the genuine items and they only have the copies, so what can they do to you?

It is possible that they have just been after your money and now they will move on to somebody else.

I'm sure you've learnt a lesson, but why would you ever send money to a prospective employer? It's the employer that should be paying you! Hope you find an even better job than the one you missed out on!
