Good day!!
I've been looking for a full-time position in China. I posted my resume. I received numerous offers.
But after I asked for class sizes, references, if I can get in touch with current foreign teachers, I don't hear from them anymore!!!
Now I decided to google: esl blacklist"
Read on or google it:

Please, Please before you sign a contract, make sure it is legit.
example this is in response keep in mind that at first he was an "officer at the university:
Thank you for your interest in teaching at my friend school beginning in February,2006.I will talk to my friend to see whether has a ready contract. There are two foreign teachers working at my friend school, I think. But I don't have their telephone number. (REG FLAG)I will ask my friend to give me.
In the meantime, We will ask you to send us the following paperwork by fax.
1.copy of your passport
2.copy of your diploma
3.letter of recommendation from your present employer.
4.your resume
5.copy of your health certificate.
Upon receipt of the paperwork, I will let you know.
Now do you think I should send copies of my passport to this person? NOPE! |

From what I hear, it is common practice in China to ask for all of the documents you mentioned. The issue of sending a copy of a passport is a sticky one. One workaround for this if the question of identity theft is a concern, is to blank out the passport number when sending a copy.
I would advise caution on relying on what's on the BearCanada site. The veracity of the information there has been called into question on several occasions. Always best to double check, on schools, and on blacklists. _________________

how come everytime somebody goes and applies for a dang job and then don't hear back they think the school is somehow illegit? ya'll realize how many applications these schools get and have to sort through
Here's an idea maybe you just didn't make the cut after the various sorting processes of elimination.maybe all those people are going to that site you mentioned to gripe cause they got looked over. people stop thinking ya'll are god's gift to the esl industry everytime you apply.sometimes you're just gonna be overqualified for the kind of naive young greenhorns these startup schools overseas want.if it's answers you want then avoid the cowboy schools altogether and just apply for college esl positions.
my advice is start with foreign teachers in the first place. network and find out which schools are worth applying to in the first place ya'll. _________________
