Thanks for getting back to me.

The course consists of 120+ hours with 9+ observed teaching hours. There are also one-on-one training exercises with a real student of English that culminates in a 60-minute session observed by a trainer. All the course web site states regarding the trainers is that it's an international team of experienced teachers. I don't really know what to look for when it comes to accredidation.

Three more things to ask your TEFL school:

1. What kind of qualifications do the trainers have?
2. What kind of accreditation does the TEFL course have?
3. Will you get to work with two distinct groups of students (eg. beginners and intermediate students)?

Hi Alison,

I'd also ask what Employment support the centre can offer you.... some centres offer very good support including taking part in being a member of their alumni

Best of luck finding a course

You are teaching how to speak English to non-native speakers of English, hence it's a foreign language (EFL) to them as distinct from teaching English to native speakers of English, where you would be teaching poetry, prose, composition etc.
The reason for the other terms probably has more to do with being politically correct and for business reasons such as who has the business names and websites using other terms.
