I have recently been offered a job in Myslenice (30 km from Krakow) by the English School of Communication Skills. Has anyone lived in or visited Myslenice? If so, could you describe to me what the city is like?
Thank You

Yes I know the location, it is very small and you will probably find not much night life, and that you will be conspicuous. It depend what you are going to Poland for - to throw yourself into teaching, or for the night life and party that many native speakers. As for the school, I don't know much about them, but I had a friend once, who had some problems there when they didn't supply him with a proper visa.

Hi Joe,
I know a number of people what have taught there (the school) and enjoyed it. I can't tell you much about the town though.
Do you have any sort of certification or prior teaching experience?

I know ESCS from the nineties in Poland, when I taught. It was a very strong company, although the schools are independtly owned and I think the one in Krakow and Myslenice may have different owners, as well as Katowice where I spent some time.

Yes, my friend taught at the Krakow school, I think it's owned independtly by a separate owner from the school in Myslowice. I saw an article on the school in Myslowice in Newsweek a few years ago, the owner was American. Coming back to the Krakow school, it had a good reputation and generally was one of the best in Krakow, that's all I konw. I did not mean to say it was a disreputable school. Rather, my friend just had a problem with his visa and said he wished them helped him more. Overall though he was happy with them as an employer and said the school is very yes.

Are we talking about Myslenice or Myslowice here? Get it right chum before you go on with the attitude.
Joe Conn - did you go with these guys or K&K in the end, or somebody else? |

Dear Carl,
Have you ever written on a camel? I even taught an English lesson once on one!

Easy on the camel jokes...i've taken camel rides before but to this date have not 'written' on one. That's a good question though...next time I get enough sauce in me and I see a camel I may just whip out a pen and begin 'writing'
