Do not apply for a job in this school. Here are the reasons:
1. They use the BTEC curriculum which is not approved in China and cannot issue diplomas to their students.
2. Non English speaking administrators attempt to interpret course requirements and order English language textbooks with almost always inappropriate results. The naive students are charged exhorbitant prices by the school for these useless tomes only to find later that their teachers refuse to use them.
3. Non English speaking adminstrators sit in on English language classes to assess teaching skills of English language teachers.
4. Regarding #1 it is becoming increasingly difficult for the school to recruit new students - therefore the school is suffering from financial difficulties. Speaking of recruiting, the school must look further and further away from (name removed) to attract new students because its poor reputation is well known in (name removed) province. Many of these poor students are housed in terrible conditions - no heat in the winter, no water, etc. Many of them also work 30 hours a week assembling cheap jewelry to pay for their tuition. The salary they earn is meager and they can barely afford a decent meal. The money from these enterprises all flows back to the school owner (name removed)
5. Salaries are paid erratically. It is the only school which insists on withholding 10% of salary as a surety that you will not run away.
6. The cash register is the number one focal point, not education.
The Chinese teachers are beaten down emotionally and physically. The students are dispirited and have disconnected from learning.
Stay Away!!

Sounds almost as bad as a Beijing-based so-called "New Oriental" kind of school.
Do you know: http://www.englishschoolwatch.org
Might be worth posting it on here too. _________________ The Truth is Out There |

I have a collection of schools that cheat or mislead. PM me if you'd like to. I'll add your school to my list. _________________ 360.yahoo.com/bjwellgo8 |

| www.englishschoolwatch.org is BLOCKED in China. The Chinese government is not interested in regulating this industry, and will prevent anyone else from doing the job they should be doing themselves. |
