Has anyone got ideas on how to create the perfect CV? The usual format is Personal Details; followed by Experience and Education.. Should it be 1 or 2 pages? Much obliged ..

That is going to depend on where you want to teach. Every country or region will differ in its preference.
Here is a link to a basic resume/CV geared for teaching abroad, but it would need tailoring depending on where.

Hi dannyboy,
C.V Format:
As a teacher and a former Job Club Leader on the UK Government programmes for the unemployed, this is the layout I taught my students:-
PERSONAL DETAILS.
NAME
ADDRESS
DATE OF BIRTH
PLACE OF BIRTH
DRIVERS LICENCE
CAR
CIVIL STATE:- Single.........
PERSONAL PROFILE:- (about eight lines typed-put your best aspects about yourself here as some potential employers won't read to the end of a CV unless it appeals to them. Really praise yourself here. Don't leave the best to last. This section is very important.
SECONDARY EDUCATION:-
SCHOOL DATE DATE SUBJECTS
EXAMS RESULTS
NAME COMMENCED COMPLETED STUDIED (put in a column)
]FURTHER EDUCATION:
NAME OF DATE DATE SUBJECTS
EXAM RESULTS
COLLEGE COMMENCED COMPLETED STUDIED
AND ADDRESS
HIGHER EDUCATION: SAME FORMAT
EMPLOYMENT:-
NAME DATE DATE DUTIES
REASON FOR
ADDRESS COMMENCED FINISHED
LEAVING
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS (make sure you don't put solo things here e.g.
photography, reading, computers etc etc. If
you do put that, add socialising. It shows you
mix with people sometimes too
P.S don't forget your covering letter too.
Hope this layout helps. Using the column format makes it quick and easy for employers to read about you.
Good luck!
Regards,
Gilda |

| The CV Format here is very simple but interesting. Do remember one thing, while preparing a CV give more importance to what you are capable, skills you have, and less importance to your personal details. |
