Hello
Can I ask what the PRESENT situation in Chengdu, for positions, is like?
I am a native speaker with a TESOL/ one year's ESL teaching experience in China, wanting to move to Chengdu to look for a teaching position for the coming term?
What's the present situation? As in....how long would it realistically take to find a job? As in....has the "recession" at home, meant that theres more people looking for teaching positions than before?
Thanks in advance for any nuggets you can throw

Have you tried going to one of the websites (Network.ESL comes to mind) and then do a geographic search of jobs available?
Network.ESL divides China into 4 or 5 geographic regions and tells how many positions are available and what the salary ranges are. They even categorize by type of student and whether housing is offered.
If you want detailed info, I can't think of a better way.
