I am heading, blindly, to South America shortly as a novice TEFL teacher.
I would love to sample the culture of Salvador and the Bahia region but am very unsure if there will be paying work out there. I have thrawled this and other sites with little success other than ME paying approximately $2,000 to volunteer for the privilege of working for next to nothing. This does not compute to me. I'd be a volunteer, working for gratification and for the benefit of others, who need it. Why would I be expected to pay?
Am I mad to hope to find work in Bahia and if so is Buenos Aires a much safer bet for gaining paid employment?
I do appreciate any info. that you can give.
Dave
