Hi,
I am currently working in a bank earning a reasonable salary but am considering starting a career as a TEFL teacher. The reasons I guess are the usual, wanting to see the world, experience different cultures and make a difference in people's lives.
I plan to complete a TEFL course later this year. I would very much like to hear from other professionals who've made the move to leave their comfortable jobs in mid career and have taken on TEFL. What have been the highlights and what have been the disappointments, regrets, hardships? Any advice?
Thanks.
Regards,
Dino. |

Dino,
One thing you will want to do is be sure you know where you want to teach before taking any course. Don't assume that any certification will work for all employers...take your time...do a little research and be sure that any education you are paying for beforehand will serve you well once you start your job hunt.
Other than that have fun!
