Hi Everybody

I have been offered a job with a University in Cameroon but it happened very quickly, they responded within 24hours of my application. They have asked for my academic recorded but nothing else at this stage. They are also promising quite a large wage for the six month contract. Has anyone worked at any of the uni's in Cameroon, is this something i should be very wary of...

Cheers

Hello Spender

Welcome to the forum.

There will be lots of clues in the advertisement, which will indicate whether it is genuine or not. Send me the advertisement and I will check it out for you.

I can't seem to find the advert on this site anymore, but here is the first set of emails they sent me. I have since read on a couple of other sites this is bogus. Live and Learn! At least i will be a little smarter next time.

Comparing the information in their email, with the information on the university website, highlights several differences.

The following should ring alarm bells immediately.

The addresses and telephone numbers are not the same and there is no email address given on their website but if there were then it would probably end in @ubuea.net and not @cccimc.com, which is a website (under construction) hosted by Yahoo and marketing all kinds of services except recruiting or ESL
The designers of the university website; as you would expect; are based in the Cameroons.

Nevertheless, in future, in the first instance, you should contact the school/university directly, using the contact information on their website to verify whether the advertisement is genuine or not and then proceed from there.
