Hi there,
I have been a recepient of your newsletter for the past year or so.There seems to be so much out there with hundreds,if not thousands of job opportunities. However,I do find some of them very restrictive in that they specify preferred nationalities to be employed which obviously leaves out anyone else.
My mother tongue is English, but I do not hold UK,US,Australian,NZ or Canadian citizenship. So,I guess that disqualifies me.I have been an ESL teacher for `15+ years.I have also lived and worked in Australia in hospitality for 4 years and now teach in an international school(since 2004) in Colombo,Sri Lanka where I hold citizenship.I am of European descent.I hold a Trained English Teacher`s certificate and have taught grades 6 to 10.I would really like to know what avenues are open to me to teach outside Sri Lanka or what I have to do?????
Looking forward to hearing from any of you .

Don't be frightened by citizenship/nationality requirements. If you are a native English speaker, then that is what you write in your CV. Your experience and written eloquence should speak for themselves.
Due to restrictions set out in citizen exchange working programmes, EU countries have restrictions, but if you receive a job offer, you can get a working visa. Also, if you can claim EU citizenship (check the country of your parents' or grandparents' origin for details), you can work in these countries quite easily.
As suggested in another posting, you can always try Eastern European countries. They are in dire need of native English speakers and although the pay may not seem as great as in other places, the cost of living in these countries is less expensive than in EU countries.
China is another country to look at.
It all depends upon what you are looking for.
Good luck!
