I just spent almost an hour at two of the other biggest ESL boards (can't use names here so be careful). It seems that most of the other ESL/TEFL job boards are overrun with recruiters posing as teachers! You can tell by their sub-standard English, grammatical errors, and limited vocabulary. You can also tell by how they excessively praise certain agents, recruiters, and schools or sneak links into their posts. ALL OF THEM ARE ALSO BASHING OR ATTACKING ANYONE WHO TALKS REALISTICALLY ABOUT WAGES & SALARIES OF FOREIGN TEACHERS IN CHINA.

Make a mental note, if you see any moron posting comments that 5,000 or 6,000 yuan per month is a normal salary in China, rest assured that they are an agent trying to low-ball you. If you can't figure out why, just read the salary and wage report at www.ChinaScamBusters.com Don't be fooled by these low-life bottom dwellers.

The CFTU just got banned from ECC after identifying fake ads from 7 dodgy recruiters, followed by a smear campaign against the volunteer teachers group in China by 3 ECC users who write with the same style. I then stumbled across this post from another user, and now it all makes sense to me...

"In my humble opinion there is too much prejudice on this forum towards the CFTU, which apparently is not even allowed to defend themselves (banned and apparently no explanation was given). So this begs the question "WHY?" After doing some digging, I found the answer...

Most of the people who bash and trash the CFTU are recruiters or job agents, and judging from these links some of them like Traveler lurk on this forum pretending to be a teacher colleague. Quite clever.

Also if you Google "Traveler, scam, China Daily Mail, China ESL" you will see WHY Traveler has been trying to smear the CFTU here at ECC. He is a recruiter for China ESL which an unethical agency blacklisted by the CFTU since 2010. Traveler admitted to being a moderator for EchinaCities.com at this link here which is certainly "interesting" to say the least.

As for who the REAL users are on this web site that attack the CFTU, this blog entry by Craig aka "Traveler" is even more intriguing.

This is shameful and I have to admit that I fell for it and was directed to a school called Mayflower Education which the "foreign teachers" at The Beijinger "highly reccomended".
