Question? Would you spend 4 hours of your life to earn an extra $8,000 a year and get a free furnished apartment too. Negotiating your own contract directly with your employer has BIG benefits as you can see here: https://www.reddit.com/r/CFTU/comments/jy4x9f/here_are_over_500_direct_employers_who_will/

An extra $8,000 can do wonders for teachers abroad who want to travel or buy a car or a nicer apartment eh?

Actually this is true BUT the devil is always in the details - namely a fair contract. I just got my own gig for the 2021 January semester and got an extra $6,500 in my pay plus a free furnished apartment worth 3,500 rmb a month BUT I had to revise their contract to get everything in writing. If you don't understand what is most important in your contract, I suggest you visit https://reddit.com/r/eslscams and look for the post about contracts about half-way down the page.

Remember that verbal promises and emails and texts mean squat and are not considered to be legal evidence in most countries. Also make sure you have an original signed and sealed hard copy of your contract since copies and edocuments are also not considered to be legally binding in most courts around the world.
