I am looking at updating a teaching resource website made some time ago for a conference, and I am looking for killer suggestions as to great resources and discussion lists etc for teachers to keep in touch, update their skills or find quality online resources...

The original page can be found at:
http://education.qut.edu.au/~turnerj/TEFLIN/links.html

So, please check out my links above and if you can think of any more I would love to hear from you!

Thanks!

Hi Allyson,

The link you listed above seems to be broken. You may want to check it and make sure it's up and running.

Well, I can open the page and it seems to be a long rather unwieldy list of web pages that are in some way related to ESL - many of them consists of even more lists with such web pages. It certainly is a good starting point if you want to do some research but then again it might be more effective to simply share your teaching experiences with us here on the forum. As for me, I think the most important message I want to get across to people is that they only can learn a language - nobody can teach them anything. It really comes down to your definition of teaching. All you can do is get your 'students' to select resources, tools and programs they can use to make their learning process more effective. You can give them advice and guidance, you can motivate and steer them into a certain directations, you can make them interact with you and other 'students' but you certainly cannot 'teach' them.
What do the other members of this forum think?
Regards
Torsten
